In the early days of building my first company, I had a sudden realization: I was the human resources department—and I knew nothing about HR. That moment sparked a turning point. I understood my business, but not how to build the HR structure and strategy it needed to thrive.
Since then, I've earned my Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) and Certified Leadership Coach (CLC) designations, along with completing formal studies in management. I’m curious about what makes leaders effective—and how workplaces can bring out the best in people.
My work path has taken me through child welfare, hospitality, and manufacturing, and I’ve also been a foster parent. I’ve been a one-person HR department, and served as a Director of HR in a large organization. I’ve worked with family-owned businesses, non-profits, big corporations, and unionized and non-unionized employers. What I’ve learned is simple: strong HR practices are foundational to every successful workplace.
Today, I bring that experience to you—helping with compliance headaches, people challenges, or when you just need someone to talk through an HR question with, I’m here to make things clearer, easier, and a lot less stressful.
